About This Role

Design the human layer of Pawa-Med™ — clinical dashboards, patient-facing WhatsApp flows, and mobile interfaces that make complex AI feel simple, safe, and trustworthy. You'll design for users who may be first-time smartphone users in rural Kenya.

What You'll Do

  • Design user interfaces for clinical AI dashboards and patient apps
  • Create accessible, mobile-first designs for low-connectivity environments
  • Conduct user research with healthcare providers and patients across Africa
  • Build interactive prototypes and test with real clinical users
  • Develop and maintain a healthcare-specific design system
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation

Requirements

  • Proficient in Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping)
  • Strong portfolio showing mobile-first or product design work
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles
  • Ability to translate complex workflows into simple, intuitive UIs
  • User research skills and ability to synthesize feedback

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing AI-native products or conversational UIs
  • Exposure to healthcare or medical product design
  • Knowledge of East African user behavior and mobile usage patterns
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries
